His Story
Kamal Habib, aka Kmalectro
Kmalectro, born Kamal Habib, still remembers the moment it all began: a room, a sequencer on the screen, his best friend at the keyboard — and himself one step behind, patient, in the second row.
Raised in a family with Afghan roots. Music entirely self-taught: piano, guitar, bass, tabla — no music school, just curiosity.
“Good enough” no longer means anything to me. It’s about doing — creating music for yourself, not for what others want to see.
Alongside his own music, he’s part of Duomastering, the Hamburg studio behind productions for CRO, Capital Bra, Mike Singer, Shirin David, Shindy, KC Rebell and Laith Al-Deen.
His music has reached listeners in Germany, France, Spain, India, Afghanistan, Sweden and beyond — always with an electronic core, always with real, acoustic elements like voice and guitar.
